At Stroud we firmly believe that achieving great results and having fun can, and should, go hand-in-hand. A good work-life balance for our consultants is essential in order to maintain the energy, drive and enthusiasm necessary to deliver great results and it allows us to attract and keep the most talented people.
We don't have a long-hours culture and we don't work weekends but when we're at work we do work hard. Working directly with the client on all our engagements means that we usually stay away from home Monday to Thursday wherever the client site may be; sometimes to city locations, sometimes to isolated industrial facilities. On a typical project there are at least two or three Stroud people working on each site and there's always time away from work to take a jog, go for a swim or go for a meal and a drink. Fridays are usually spent in the local office sharing progress with colleagues or working on personal development, but occasionally people will choose to take a day's holiday and stay away for the weekend, taking advantage of the client's proximity to a great city or a great ski resort.
Our consultants are a very diverse and active group and tend to use their 25 days of vacation to the full: traveling and participating in a wide variety of sports and interests. We meet and work with a huge range of people in different cultures through our client work and our own organization. We enjoy each others' company and, as a relatively small firm, take the time to get to know each other at work, out of work and at our regular team-building events.
Most of the consultants at the Marblehead office base themselves in the city of Boston, almost all of the EU consultants live in London, and our Calgarians can all be found in the heart of the city.
